What information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect your name, email address, delivery and billing details, order and transaction information, messages you send to us, and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the website.

Why we use your information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries; manage orders, payments, delivery, refunds and customer service; maintain records we are required to keep; prevent misuse or fraud; and, where you have chosen to sign up, send Next Harvest and availability emails.

Our lawful bases

We process information where it is necessary to take steps at your request or perform a contract with you, where we must comply with a legal obligation, where we have a legitimate interest in operating and protecting the business and website, or where you have given consent. Next Harvest marketing emails are sent on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share only the information necessary with service providers that help us run the business, such as our website hosting, email and mailing-list provider, payment provider and delivery provider. Our Next Harvest mailing list is currently managed using Brevo. Online payments are processed securely by Square. Square receives the information needed to process your payment and order in accordance with its own privacy terms.

International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we will use providers and safeguards that meet applicable UK data-protection requirements.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, tax, accounting or dispute-resolution requirements. Marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe or we otherwise decide it is no longer needed. We will review our retention periods as the business begins trading.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to processing. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.

To exercise a data-protection right, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how we use your personal information.

Next Harvest emails

If you sign up for Next Harvest updates, we use your email address to send news about upcoming harvests, availability and closely related Humble Bumble updates. Signing up is optional. We use consent for these emails and you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us.

We use Brevo to manage the mailing list and send these emails. We do not add you to unrelated third-party marketing lists or sell your email address.

Cookies & website technology

The website may use technology that is strictly necessary for it to function securely and correctly. We will not add non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies without reviewing the consent requirements first. If we introduce non-essential cookies or similar technologies, this section and the website's consent controls will be updated before they are used.

Terms of sale

The online shop is still being prepared and is not yet open for trading. Before online sales are enabled, this section will set out the final terms that apply to orders, including product information, prices, payment, order acceptance, availability, delivery, cancellation rights, returns, refunds and liability.

No order should be treated as accepted until the live checkout process confirms it in accordance with the final terms of sale.

Delivery, cancellations & returns

Final delivery areas, charges, dispatch times and returns arrangements will be published here and shown to customers before payment once online sales go live. Any statutory consumer rights that apply will not be affected by these terms.

Food information

Our standard honey is sold as pure honey in 340g jars. The product page provides the mandatory food information available before purchase, including the name of the food, net quantity and country of origin. Best-before and batch information is marked on each jar.

The Humble Bumble is responsible for ensuring its food is safe, accurately described and traceable. We keep appropriate records for ingredients and packaging suppliers, production and bottling batches, and any supply to other businesses so that affected products can be identified if a withdrawal or recall is ever required.

If we introduce flavoured or infused honey products, their ingredients and any required allergen information will be provided separately before they are offered for sale.
