Opening a hive and seeing thousands of bees working together changes the way you look at them. Every colony moves with the weather, the flowers and the season.
There is always more to learn, and that is part of what makes keeping bees so absorbing.
Home in County Durham
We keep our bees on our allotment in County Durham and take a small-scale, hands-on approach to beekeeping.
We know our hives, inspect them ourselves and harvest the honey in small batches when the bees and the season allow.
Shaped by the seasons
Each harvest has its own character. The flowers available to the bees, the weather and the time of year all play their part in the colour and flavour of the honey.
For us, that is exactly how it should be.
More than honey
The Humble Bumble is about sharing a little of what our bees produce, looking after the colonies that produce it, and giving people a closer connection to where their honey actually comes from.
